DESCRIPTION:Workshop\n\nFeatured Speaker: Predictions Are Hard, Especially
about the Future\n\nMoreira\n\nThe lifetime of a leadership computing sys
tem spans about 10 years: It takes 5 years from conception to delivery, an
d then the systems stays in production for an additional 5 years. A lot ca
n change in 10 years: Strategic priorities, policies, technologies, usage
patterns, economic landscape. Yet, we have to make this work. In this talk
, I will discuss some of the approaches we can use to design a high-perfor
mance computing system that will be relevant 10 years in the future. I wil
l also discuss why sometimes we have to look beyond what we actually know,
in order to produce true game-changing systems.\n\nSession Format: Record
ed\n\nTag: Architectures, Data Analytics, Datacenter, Extreme Scale Comput
ing, HPC Community Collaboration, Machine Learning and Artificial Intellig
ence, Performance, Resource Management and Scheduling, System Software\n\n
