DESCRIPTION:Workshop\n\nExascale Computing Project’s Broadening Participat
ion Initiative\n\nParete-Koon, Leung, Ramprakash, Curfman McInnes\n\nThis
talk will give an overview of ECP’s Broadening Participation Initiative, w
hich has the mission of establishing a sustainable plan to recruit and ret
ain a diverse workforce in the DOE high-performance computing community by
fostering a supportive and inclusive culture within the computing science
s at DOE national laboratories. We will describe key activities within thr
ee complementary thrusts: establishing an HPC Workforce Development and Re
tention Action Group, creating accessible ‘Intro to HPC’ training material
s, and launching the Sustainable Research Pathways for High-Performance Co
mputing (SRP-HPC) workforce development program. We are leveraging ECP’s u
nique multilab partnership to work toward sustainable collaboration across
the DOE community, with the long-term goal of changing the culture and de
mographic profile of DOE computing sciences.\n\nSession Format: Recorded\n
