SUMMARY:Full Stack Software Developer
DESCRIPTION:Job Posting\n\nFull Stack Software Developer\n\n\n\nOverview:\
n\nThe Analytics and AI Methods at Scale (AAIMS) Group in the National Cen
ter for Computational Science (NCCS) seeks highly motivated individual(s)
to work with our staff scientists to design and develop scalable data pipe
line, as well as web-based interactive visual analytic applications to dri
ve toward operational intelligence. We are looking for someone that is cre
ative, well-rounded, and has the eagerness and technical curiosity to expl
ore and work with exciting new technologies. You should be comfortable fol
lowing software best practices and be able to contribute to a range of pro
jects from initial development to continued improvement.\n\n \n\nThe NCCS
and its Leadership Computing Program (OLCF) provides world class computing
facilities to applications across all computational domains and disciplin
es, and through this position you will be able to impact and further the m
ission of NCCS and Oak Ridge National Laboratory. We are an inclusive dyna
mic environment that welcomes those with initiative and creativity.\n\n \n
\nMajor Duties/Responsibilities:\n\nNCCS collects operational data from va
rious sources such as the HPC facility, storage backends, networks, parall
el file systems, and applications and jobs at very high velocity and volum
 e. You will have the opportunity to leverage your expertise in software e
ngineering to help build the scalable data pipelines as well as web-based
visual analytical applications that aims to enhance situational awareness
& operational efficiency of our users & operations. \n\nWhile data science
experience is not required, you will help architect such systems by colla
borating in an interdisciplinary team of researchers and engineers from ba
ckgrounds in data science, software engineering and system software, with
ample growth opportunities.\n\nMajor related areas of activities are liste
d below but are not limited to:\n\nDesign and develop scalable data pipeli
ne components that perform data acquisition, processing, and handling.\nDe
sign, implement, or support web based interactive visual analytics applica
tions that leverages the data artifacts from the underlying data pipelines
& machine learning development activities from live data.\nOperation & ma
intenance of an eco-system of data pipeline, workflow components, services
, and applications in production\nSupport staff scientists to conduct scal
able data processing, analytics, operational insight extraction, and visua
lization by providing software engineering support in building systems, to
 ols, and frameworks.
